Step 3 - The Advanced Skinning Options
Now we need to set the details on the 'Advanced Skinning' dialogue, so click on the 'Advanced' button again and we'll finish
off the settings here.
- First, we can set the active and inactive tabs to tile horizontally. (We could stretch them actually - it doesn't make any
difference in our design, but it may if you had tabs with a textured look.)
- In both the Active and Inactive Tab Title Options, set the text to centered, top, H offset=0 and V offset=3. This should
move the text downward slightly to the centre of our tab image. The max text width setting controls how close to the left
and right edges of the tab image our text will reach. We can set this to 100%, but it depends on how big your tab names are
and how wide your WorkShelf is. It's best to experiment.
- The settings in the body section need careful thought. Our settings are:
2 - tile horizontally
4 - stretch vertically
5 - tile horizontally / stretch vertically
6 - stretch vertically
8 - tile horizontally
...simply, we can tile horizontally as the gradient repeats itself across the shelf, while we stretch vertically to prevent
seeing the gradient repeating if we make the shelf taller. (In this case, we could have stretched horizontally as well, but tiling is more economical processing-wise.)
- Click on the 'Ok' button to complete the settings for our skin.
