Step 9 - Tasks and Systray
- Choose the location on your desktop for your tasklist and systray, including offset values. If you have a 'tasks.bmp'
bitmap (which we have), then choose the right-hand setting for the tasklist style (i.e. displayed as a button with a background), and select the orientation you prefer - horizontal or vertical.
The task button background should be 'bitmap', with no colours selected and 'tile' unchecked. The button frame is set
to 'no frame' and you can select the systray style of your choice (either always open or pop-out - the time setting for which is
is the 'auto-hide' checkbox lower down), and finally, the systray transparency setting. I usually have all the 'misc preferences' checked.
- Note that in the current release of NextStart, the location and orientation of the taskbar/systray are not theme specific - they are global settings which are used for all your themes.
- The user defined icon section allows you to choose different icons for the applications in the task list. (Note that if you leave the Icon Path box blank, that task will not be displayed in the task list!!). You can add an application either by their executable name ( i.e. 'nextstart2.exe' ) or by providing a word that exists in the application's window caption ( e.g.; 'WinWord' ). You can choose to have 16x16, 32x32 or 48x48 icons representing your tasks in icon size.
